Hi everyone. I am Jose (5 years old English teacher).
I am struggling with the english folders because I don´t have them yet... We have to wait a little bit more in order to give you the Portfolio.

Anyway, I would like to give you a topic for week and some important information. During these weeks  your children are learning and reinforcing the days of the week. I want to give you some material that I have done.

I sang two songs in English about the days of the week and how to work the pronunciation of the days of the week. Altough I am still thinking that the way that a kid learns English is in a natural way I think this is also OK. You can listen to it with your children. I also want to give you some links that can help you (this is because I know that I am not a very good singer so another kind of English singer will be OK, ja, ja, ja).

To sum up, in the links below you can find songs (one with the lyrics), a story and a game to play with your kid. The days of the week and answer this question (What day is today?  ... Today is...) will be part of your children assessment.

PS. Ah! I don´t want to forget to tell you that in English the days of the week, the first letter is written in capital letter. (Monday, Thursday...... and always with on.... On Monday, On Thursday...)

Hola, soy Jose (profesor de Inglés de 5 años).

Estoy teniendo algunos problemas con las carpetas para el portfolio pues aún no las hemos recibido. Tenemos que esperar un poquito más para poder trabajar conjuntamente el Portfolio.

De cualquier forma, quisiera entregaros un tema por semana junto con información importante. Así en esta semana os entrego el tema: DÍAS DE LA SEMANA en inglés. ¿Cómo se responde?

What day is today?.... Today is..... (en un futuro cercano iremos trabajando conceptos espaciales... yesterday -ayer y tomorrow.... mañana).

Quisiera daros material que he creado.
He cantado dos canciones en inglés acerca de los días de la semana y como trabajar su pronunciación. Aunque sigo creyendo que el niño aprende otra lengua de forma natural, creo interesante reforzar con este tipo de trabajos colaborativos con vosotros.
También quiero entregaros algunos enlaces que pueden ayudaros (esto es porque sé que no canto nada bien, un material extra con un mejor cantante y una mejor música os ayudará también -je, je, je).
En resumen, en los links que os paso podéis encontrar diferentes canciones (una inventada por mi y con la letra en inglés y en español), la historia de Rigoberto donde podéis hacer un juego memorístico y de pronunciación con vuestros hijos sobre los días de la semana y un juego que mejora la producción oral (este juego la pregunta es en inglés y la respuesta, obviamente, por parte del niño será en español).
Los días de la semana y que vuestro hijo sepa responder a la pregunta ¿Qué día es hoy?... Hoy es... será parte de los aspectos que se le valorarán.

PD: Ah, se me olvidaba. En inglés los días de la semana se escribe la primera letra siempre en mayúscula y precedida de la preposición On: On Monday, on Thursday....
